I’m a transactional real estate attorney. I came out of law school in 2008, which was not a good time to be a real estate attorney in the U.S. I was lucky have a few large retail office and condominium projects that kind of kept me busy during the recession.

I am from Michigan even though I am in Arkansas right now, and I grew up on a small family farm. My family has a truck garden farm, and we’ve gone to our farmers market for several generations.
I practiced for a number of years at Faegre Baker Daniels, which is an ag law practice and moved to Drake almost exactly 5 years ago. Now I am the Associate Director of the Agricultural Law Center at Drake Law School and the Director of Career Development at Drake Law School based in Des Moines.

AALA announced the 2016 award recipients at the 2016 AALA Annual Educational Symposium at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. David Grahn was honored with the AALA Distinguished Service Award, AALA Excellence in Agricultural Law Awards were presented to David LeBas, Peggy Kirk-Hall and Mike Traxinger, Stephanie Tai received the AALA Professional Scholarship Award, and the AALA Student Scholarship Award was presented to Neal Rasmussen.
